Hubbub around NFT: This week we have covered several topics related to blockchain, metaverse and NFT. As we mentioned earlier, NFT has now entered many industries and fields. This week you’ll hear about updates on fundraising in Ukraine, a famous football club and also a virtual fashion week.

#2. UkraineDAO raises almost $7M via NFT sale

Furthermore Ukraine has received nearly $40 million in crypto donations, nearly $7 million of which came after the announcement of the now-cancelled drop.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov informed the public on Wednesday, that the country has decided to cancel an airdrop for crypto donations announced on Tuesday. Instead, he plans to raise more money through the sale of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Also, there was a scam after this announcement, you can read more about it  here.

Ukraine DAO crowdfunded 2,188 Ether (ETH), or $6.1 million, for a 1/1 Ukrainian flag non-fungible token (NFT).

#3.The Sandbox metaverse hits 2M users 

The sandbox metaverse game, owned by investment giant Animoca Brands, which invests in non-fungible tokens (NFT), passed the 2 million registered users mark during the launch of the second alpha season.

The second season was officially unlocked on Thursday (the alpha launch of the first season took place at the end of November 2021) and every user can freely explore 35 different virtual experiences, including a preview of the “Snoopverse” in collaboration with popular rapper and NFT newcomer Snoop Dogg.

There are 200 quests that players can complete to earn a chance to win an Alpha Pass NFT that rewards owners with up to 1,000 SAND, which equates to about $3,000 at current prices.

#4. FC Barcelona plans to join Metaverse

FC Barcelona is the latest sporting heavyweight to take the plunge into the blockchain world, announcing plans to launch its own NFTs, a football-related metaverse, and its own cryptocurrency.

It would be a great way for the club to find a solution to the financial problems it has been struggling with.

Earlier this week, Manchester City revealed plans to replicate its stadium in the metaverse, while arch-nemesis Manchester United inked a sponsorship deal with Tezos (decentralized open-source blockchain).

#5. A virtual fashion show is coming to Decentraland (MANA)

Decentraland (MANA) recently announced the launch of an event that promises to be the largest virtual fashion show in the world.

Decentraland is planning a four-day virtual fashion week called Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW). During the fashion festival, we will be able to enjoy the best of artificial intelligence fashion and wearable tech in the form of NFTs.

From March 24 to 27, MVFW will take place in the luxury district of Decentraland. The Parisian architecture-inspired shopping district in this metaverse will serve as the backdrop for the virtual catwalks.

Some of the brands that have confirmed their participation include Vogue Arabia, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce&Gabbana, Selfridges, Elie Saab, FEWOCiOUS, Guo Pei, Etro, Jacob & Co, The Fabricant, Dundas, Cavalli, Paco Rabanne, Hogan and many more.
